Glasgow West End

Welcome to Glasgow West End u3a

A Message from Gail our Chair:

We have recently (October 2025) welcomed our 520th member. If you are interested in joining, or have further enquires, please go to Join Us! on this site, from where you can contact the membership secretary. You could give GWE u3a a trial by coming to a meeting or attending one of our interest groups before joining (you must first check with the group's contact person via the website - see below).

We have 59 activity, learning and social groups. For more information on their activities, view our Groups page and click on the name of any group that interests you. Then use the link on its page to send a message to the contact for the group. Almost all activities now take place in person, though a few groups have chosen to continue wholly or partly on Zoom.

Our Monthly Meetings take place on the third Thursday of the month, at 10 for 10.30 am. They are held in the Hyndland Community Hall, 24 Novar Drive, G12 9RU. Talks, with an opportunity to ask questions, last about an hour in total. Details of these and other Events can be found on this site.

We also enjoy the opportunity to meet other members at a monthly Saturday afternoon Coffee and a Chat - usually held in The Puppet Theatre, Balcarres Avenue. We have our own GWE u3a Facebook Page, and produce a monthly Newsletter which is sent to all members.

If an activity in which you are particularly interested in is not available, then why not suggest it?

I hope you find the site informative - we welcome comments from new and old members!
