The group meets monthly to visit places of historical interest or hear presentations either in-person or via Zoom. Although we normally meet on a Monday we sometimes have to meet on another day, depending on venue availability.

16 June 2025 - tour of the Old Burying Ground, Glasgow Cathedral, by Colin Campbell

19 May 2025 - walking tour of Old Govan, by Kevin Scott .

30 April 2025 - visit to Sma' Shot Cottages, Paisley (18th and 19th century weavers' cottages)

31 March 2025 - Presentation by Judith Bowers on the world's oldest surviving music hall, Glasgow's Panopticon.

17 February 2025 - visit to the National Trust's Tenement House, Glasgow

21 January 2025 - Presentation by local sculptor, James Winnett, on the 1938 Glasgow Empire Exhibition.

16 December 2024 - Visit to Provand's Lordship and Museum of Religion

18 November 2024 - tour of Mackintosh Queen's Cross by the Charles Rennie Mackintosh society.

29 October - presentation by journalist Dorothy Parker on artist Berthe Morisot .

7 October 2024 - visit to Perth Museum, including Stone of Destiny

16 September 2024- visit to Irvine historic harbourside and Maritime Museum

27 August 2024 - Presentation by sculptor, James Winnett, on, 'The Stones of the Hollow Hill' project

20 May 2024 - guided tour of David Livingstone birthplace

22 April 2024 - guided tour of Glasgow Cathedral

18 March 2024 - presentation by one of our members, Dr Amanda Rees on 'Public History & the Rise of Regional Civil Rights Trails in the American South'

19 February 2024 - tour of Glasgow Women's Library

22 January 2024 - presentation on Greenock archives cancelled due to illness

4 December 2023 – presentation on the Cuningar Stones by artist and stone carver, James Winnett.

2 November 2023 – guided tour of the Hunterian Museum, followed by self-guided visit

12 October 2023 –guided tour of the Willow Tearooms, stencilling session, and tea and cakes in the tearoom.

18 September 2023 -guided tour of Victoria Park and Scotstoun, led by Bearsden & Milngavie u3a member, Norrie Reid.

19 June 2023 - guided tour of Glasgow School of Art archives

22 May 2023 - tour of Riverside Museum's maritime collection

24 April 2023 -visit to the the Alasdair Gray archive.

3 March - tour of Trades House, one of the few historic buildings on the city still used for the purpose for which it was built.

20 February - presentation on the Cuningar Stones cancelled due to illness. Re-arranged for later in the year.

23 January - tour of Govan Stones, the collection of mediaeval stones displayed in Govan Old Church.
